Filling in the Holes

First, some deer.
IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE
But wait, there's more!
But wait, there's even more!  Can you spot them?  (There's three!)
Back to our regularly scheduled blogging.

Baby, it's cold outside.
Deadly icicles!
OOOoooooooOOOOOOOoooooooo.
Milly went through 400 gallons of propane in a month due to lack of insulation+missing drywall+negative Fahrenheit record low temperatures.

We've been in a rush to fill holes.  Figuratively and literally!

Plugging the wire holes in the studs so the mice are thwarted!
I hear drywall compound is tasty.  I believe everything I hear.
Fire-caulking between the floors.  That's a lovely red!
Gotta protect those wires.  Home builders from days of yore, take note!  These stud plates are meant for wires too, not just plumbing!
Cutting the insulation like BUTTAH.
Those tricky holes.
Time for a work break!  It's hard to concentrate when you're itching all over.
I found an awesome app for freeeeeeeeeeeee! (Well, you can use it for free, but have to pay for additional objects and exporting.)  It's called MagicPlan and it's the most intuitive floor planner I've used, because SketchUp is beyond what my tired mind is able to comprehend.

Executing the MagicPlan! (All things previously on our list, but now are done with PURPOSE)
Bathtub?
GONE!
Toilet?  Really heavy... going, going... heavy...
GONE!
Flimsy tub spout?  GONE!  With minimal help from us!
Drywall between the two bathrooms?  GONE!
No styrofoam?  I am disappoint.   But it's also GONE!
Ewwww.... goooey leaky subfloor.  Ewwwwww.
I guess if the pipe felt tired it can rest in that little nook!
Much progress. Much joy.

And now begins the montage of pictures that no one cares about, but is posted for posterity's sake...
BEHOLD the majesty of our rock wool!

Not A Live Wire

I've been missing.  For a while I couldn't bear to go to Milly or even think about what needed to be done.  Reason for my malaise is stupid: there was constantly someone helping and the renovation no longer felt like a partnership between DH and I.

Yes, I became unmotivated because people helped us get things done.

And there's a lot that needed to be done.

We got snow.  A lot of snow!
It was too much for our tractor to handle, so we hired a snow plower.  His truck almost got stuck.
I started to go missing, because when you're already behind, why not just skip everything!

Soffits were removed!  Because "pfft" to lowered headroom!
And more thingamajigs were removed!  Because yeah!
Goodbye weird closet extension!
It's so... open!  This is legit, right?  I can keep it like this?
PFFLES.  SOFFITS.  PFFLES.
Creative solutions, yes.  Privacy, no.
Baring it all for you!
Photos courtesy of DH because although I wasn't there, I still wanted pics.  We all took a break though for the electricians to work their magic.  On a side note, the quote to rewire our house ranged wildly, from $5,000 to $11,000.  Why!

Slimmer box!  Our house is getting toned!
Labels?  What a novel concept!
That's alotta wires!  They're still missing a few things that got lost in miscommunication, so there will be MOAR wires added later!
Look, exterior covers for outlets!  I am digging that convex bubble.
This is DH's baby.  His command center!  With a manly heart configuration!
Oh my!
This post is backdated because I was too unmotivated.

Task: Have Everyone But Me Possible At The House
